The FILTERSCAN WiFi Air Filter Monitor, along with the AirFilterSentry Notification System notifies you when it is time to change the air filter on your central heating and cooling system (HVAC). It removes the guesswork about when to do this important task and optimizes air filter life. It is so innovative that the editors of Popular Science Magazine selected it as one of the five "Best of What's New in 2014" in the Home category! It utilizes patented differential pressure technology sensors and intelligent software to determine the optimum time to replace or clean your air filter. It then uses your home's WiFi network to send you a text or email notifying you that the filter is clogged. The monitor is easily installed on your HVAC system's return plenum, either upstream, downstream, or even across the air filter (using an optional tubing kit), and is calibrated whenever the air filter is replaced. It eliminates air filter clogging and, thereby, saves energy and helps avoid compromised indoor air quality due to a clogged air filter. Clogged air filters are the number one cause of HVAC equipment failure, which can cost thousands of dollars to repair. The Department of Energy also estimates that you can save up to 15% on your home energy bills by making sure that your HVAC air filter never clogs. It works with almost all air filters and on HVAC systems with either single or multiple fan speeds. It does not work with window air conditioners or space heaters.
